St Chad’s is a busy parish with a population of approximately 11,000 and an electoral roll of 154. It is situated in mid Cheshire in the town of Winsford and the unitary authority area of Cheshire West & Chester. Its boundaries are the parishes of St John’s, Over to the north; St Bartholomew, Church Minshull to the south; Christ Church, Wharton to the east; and St David’s, Wettenhall to the west, St Chad’s is in the deanery of Middlewich.
The parish church itself is located 350 metres off Swanlow Lane at the bottom of a picturesque tree lined drive. It is a Grade II* listed building and is surrounded by a conservation area.
